Offered here is a spectacular 1870's National Lawn Tennis Boxed Set. A beautiful full color lithograph print adorns the inside of the lid and features an hourglass shaped court, indicative of the 1870's. It is complete with it's contents which include tennis posts, with a decorative finial for atop each. Also includes the original net, wooden mallet, support rigs, pegs, and three balls that are from a later time period. There are two tin medallions attached to the inside lid on both sides of the paper lithograph that identify the R. Spence & Co. as the maker.
