1885 Peck & Snyder Official Lawn Tennis Rules
After the first American National championship was held at the Staten Island Cricket Club in September of 1880, the United States National Lawn Tennis Association (now the United States Tennis Association) was formed in 1881 to standardize the rules of this new tennis game, and to organize competitions. A mere 4 years later, this little gem came to print. The catalog is intact with both front and back covers, inside are 48 pages. About half are dedicated to the rules and regulations, followed by the other half which include additional pages of diagrams, ads, and many pages of Peck & Snyder racket models. This is a small delicate pamphlet (3.75 x 5.5 inches) and overall it remains in remarkable condition. Please call or email for additional images and or condition details.
