This is a 19th century football figure that has been cast in metal. Probably pot metal, but not certain. The figure depicts a full body player holding a massive, melon style football. Interestingly, the form is identical to a Heubach bisque football figure that depicts the same football player in the same pose, also wearing the same quilted pants, high collar football sweater nd grasping the same huge melon style football. There are no markings indicating a maker but it is a high quality figure with exceptional detail. A scarce antique football statue that will present well in any vintage football collection. The condition is solid EX-MT.
