Offered here is a wonderful pair of rare, 1910's Vintage Reeded Baseball Shin Guards. These fine vintage baseball shin guards were made by the GoldSmith Sporting Goods Company. The GoldSmith logo is very lightly stamped in the upper left of each leather knee pad. They represent the very first form of leg protection offered to a baseball catcher. Hall of Fame catcher Roger Bresnahan is credited with designing the reeded shin guards in 1907. This style of shin guard is extremely rare and especially in this excellent condition!
