1917 Golf Bag made for James W. Brine Co
Here we have a very interesting vintage golf bag. This unusual 1917 Golf Bag was made by the R.H. Burke Co. for James W. Brine Co., Athletic Outfitters. This is an amazing vintage golf bag, made of canvas and leather construction. R.H. Burke Company is identified on the bottom of the bag as their Model No. 4 1/2 along with the Patent date of June 12, 1917. On the leather shoulder strap is affixed a brass plate that identifies James W. Brine - Athletic Outfitters - 285 Devonshire Street, Boston, Mass. A very interesting and uncommon feature of the bag is that the handle, not the shoulder strap, but the leather handle used for carrying the bag is on a metal slide which allows the user to position the handle wear ever is most convenient for carrying. Overall, a great looking vintage golf bag and it will provide the perfect way to display your favorite vintage golf clubs or stand alone as a great addition to your antique golf memorabilia collection. The condition is wonderful EX-MT!
