This is a very unusual, perhaps unique, vintage football collectible. This pewter football stein dates from the 19th century and features an exquisite football scene, hand painted onto the bottom of the pewter vessel. The bottom of the stein is actually glass, upon which a reverse painting of the football scene has been painted. The scene is accurately and exquisitely detailed showing a football scrum of several players. Marked Reed & Barton on the edge of the bottom of the stein. Must see images to appreciate. An outstanding and rare piece!
